    • Terroir: Early-ripening site, this is a monopole with the old stone walls of the Clos still bordering the parcel. Historically, the “quart” was considered the best vineyard, reserved for the lord or king. Clay-limestone soils from the secondary era (Mesozoic, middle and lower Bajocian), with crinoidal limestone (Aalenian superior). Southeastern exposure, 230m altitude, 8% incline.
    • Viticulture: Organic (not certified)
    • Vinification: Whole bunch pressing, light decanting, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in barrel, aged 18 months in barrel with just one racking, no fining, light filtration (kieselguhr).

    Planted to the density of 10,000 vines per hectare (higher than the typical 6,500 to 8,000 vines per hectare in the Mâconnais).
