Additional Info
“Natural grass cover has been very beneficial for these two plots, which present a significant risk of hydromorphy. Water stagnates in winter on the surface horizons and can cause root asphyxiation. Here, the soil structure is kept draining thanks to the plants naturally covering the ground (some of which are marsh plants) which balance and buffer the quantity of water in the soil. This allows for better biological activity during wet periods. Biological activity creates porosity, which allows for better water infiltration during dry periods.”
