Additional Info

When the Friardel orchard was acquired by Benoît's grandfather in 1964 the apple trees were already old, at least 50 years old at the time. These high-branched trees are planted at a much lower density than the other orchard, just 100 to 150 trees per hectare. Benoît re-plants trees as needed in this vineyard (especially after storms like the one in 1999) so there is quite a large range in age of the trees.
