At a Glance
- Variety: Pinot Noir
- Surface Area: Les Vermots: 0.20 ha (0.49 ac). Les Godeaux: 0.20 ha (0.49 ac).
- Terroir: Les Vermots, planted in 1929, and Les Godeaux, age unknown, are both seated on southwest-facing hillsides with well-draining clay-limestone. Les Vermots, is a cooler site because of its position, deeper in the valley.
- Viticulture: Both purchased, organic (not certified), 45-55 hl/ha.
- Vinification: 100% whole cluster, minimal SO2 addition before vinification, grapes chilled to 12°C, semi-carbonic maceration and ambient yeast fermentation in tank, gentle punch-downs at the end of fermentation, aged for 12 months in used barrels and for an additional 5 months in tank, no fining, no filtration, SO2 added when racked to tank and before bottling (20-50 ppm total at bottling).
Additional Info
