    Additional Info

Pascal says that he used to be quite content to describe his Vosne-Romanée village, then a blend of 9 terroirs spanning the length of the appellation, as a highly representative example of Vosne. But for a decade he had been vinifying the parcels separately and trying all sorts of blends. Finally, he decided to make three Vosnes villages with a much more coherent geographical and textural definition.

This is Pascal’s Vosne with the most tension and he says it will be able to age as well as a premier cru. The tension comes from a layer of stones at 1.5 meters of depth but also from the very oldest vines in Colombière, planted in 1929. Due to the deep red clays, there is also plenty of fruit to buffer the tension, “and the tannins are not firm,” Pascal says. “They keep the drinker interested and call for another glass.”
