    • Terroir: Located in the center of Franken on the Main River, at 250m above sea level. Thin, stony, white limestone and gravel soil.
    • Viticulture: Organic methods (not certified), homemade composts, diverse cover crops.
    • Vinification: Gently crushed before pressing, ambient yeast fermentation in 228 and 500-liter barrels, complete malolactic fermentation. Aged for 12 months in barrels (10-20% new) and 4 additional months in stainless steel tanks. No fining, light filtration when necessary.

    This is a declassified wine from the Grossen Gewächs site Astheimer Karthaüser because Chardonnay is not classified as a grape variety for GG in Franken.
